Finding the right therapist is important.

My name is Sarah Wood, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice here in Claremont, California. I am here to help you recover from trauma and live a fulfilled and resilient life.

I offer individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and children. My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from humanistic, experiential, and somatic models of therapy, and tailored to each client’s specific needs and goals.  I specialize in working with people who are survivors of interpersonal trauma, such as childhood abuse and neglect, domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, and sexual assault.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Before scheduling an intake appointment, I will do a free initial phone consultation that will last 15-20 minutes. During this conversation, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and determine whether I can offer you the services that you need. After the phone consultation, we will schedule the initial visit. Please call me at (626) 275-8935 or e-mail me at to schedule a free consultation.

What is your payment policy?

My standard session fee is $120 for a 50-minute session. Extended sessions are sometimes available for a higher fee. Sliding scale appointments are available on a limited basis based on financial need. Payment can be made with cash, check, or debit card via Square Cash. Payment is due at the time services are rendered.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not participate in-network with any insurance panels.  If your insurance reimburses for out-of-network providers, I can provide you with a monthly billing statement that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. To find out how much you can expect to be reimbursed, simply call your insurance company and ask what cost they cover for an out of network mental health provider.
