There are many good therapists out there, but not every therapist is right for every client. Here is some more information about me to help you determine whether I may be a good fit for you.
I offer individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and children. While it is often helpful to include other family members in treatment, especially with children and adolescents, I do not currently provide ongoing family or couples therapy.
I have experience working with a wide range of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and relationship difficulties. I specialize in working with individuals who are survivors of interpersonal trauma, including childhood abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and sexual abuse or assault.
I am also experienced in treating children for problems such as anxiety, frequent sadness or tearfulness, angry outbursts, and difficulty adjusting to major life changes such as death or divorce. I use play therapy to help children learn new coping skills, promote healthy expression of emotions, and strengthen parent-child relationships.
I believe that quality mental health care should be accessible to everyone. I reserve several spaces in my private practice for reduced fee therapy appointments. Please contact me to discuss the availability for sliding scale payment options. Here are some additional resources for low cost and sliding scale counseling in Claremont and the surrounding area.
My approach to therapy is integrative, incorporating a variety of treatment approaches and tailored to your specific needs and goals. My work is influenced primarily by emotion-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), a mind-body approach that helps clients manage traumatic stress reactions.
