FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of services do you provide?

I offer individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and children. While it is often helpful to include other family members in treatment, especially with children and adolescents, I do not currently provide ongoing family or couples counseling services. Although I work with clients on a wide range of issues, I specialize in working with people who are survivors of interpersonal trauma, such as childhood abuse and neglect, intimate partner violence, and sexual abuse and assault. How does it work? How long will it take?

Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, the course of treatment will be different for each individual. I adjust my therapeutic approach according to your specific needs. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on a number of factors.

How do I get started?

Before scheduling an intake appointment, I will do a free initial phone consultation that will last 15-20 minutes. During this conversation, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and determine whether I can offer you the services that you need. After the phone consultation, we will schedule the initial visit. Click here to read more about how to get started and what will happen in the first session.

What is your payment policy?

My standard session fee is $120 for a 50-minute session, or $180 for an extended 80-minute session. Payment can be made with cash, check, or debit card via Square Cash. Payment is due at the time services are rendered.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

I believe that quality mental health care should be accessible to everyone, therefore I reserve several spaces in my private practice for reduced fee therapy appointments. Please contact me to discuss the availability for sliding scale payment options. Learn more about your options for low cost counseling and sliding scale therapy in Claremont and the surrounding area.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not participate in-network with any insurance panels.  If your insurance reimburses for out-of-network providers, I can provide you with a monthly billing statement that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. To find out how much you can expect to be reimbursed, simply call your insurance company and ask what cost they cover for an out of network mental health provider.
